I have been working as a freelance web designer for three years now, enjoying the freedom - it's hard work, but that's OK, because I enjoy it! I have done a number of solo projects, but have also worked on some projects with other companies building flash movies or coding standards-compliant valid XHTML/CSS.

Broken Tail

Broken Tail is a documentary film that was recently shown at the 2010 Jameson Film Festival, and subsequently on RTÉ that follows the last journey of one of the world's most famous wild tigers.

I designed and built this site for Crossing the Line Productions.

The site included a twitter powered news section.

A Prayer For The Windhorse

A Prayer For The Windhorse is a documentary film following the journey of a family of Buddhist yak herders on a two–month odyssey unmatched anywhere on the planet. It was also featured in the 2010 Jameson Film festival.

I designed and built this site for Crossing the Line Films.

Similarly to Broken Tail, the site included a twitter powered news section.

Maeve Friel

I recently designed and built this site for renowned children's author Maeve Friel

The site needed to be accessible to children but also provide good information for teachers and parents.

Access My LAN

The Latest site I have designed and built, was for international company Asavie's product Access My LAN. I worked closely with their marketing and I.T. department to create a design that integrated into their system and maximised their click-though rate.

Access My LAN is one of the biggest providers of remote office solutions in the world, providing their service to customers of O2, Vodafone, Alltel, Orange and AT&T.

Scudding Clouds

I built this Flash site for Dublin-based interior design specialists Scudding Clouds.

It's based in Flash but has an updatable XML content system, for ease of use.

Allprint.ie

I worked with Oisin Prendiville (aka Little Deer) on this project for print house Allprint's website.

I designed the site's look, and myself and Oisin worked together on how the site should work. Oisin implemented the back end functionality.

Allprint Xmas Card Site

For Allprint's christmas card site myself and Oisin had the challenge of streamlining and simplifying the many charity cards that Allprint offer every christmas time.

Similarly I designed the look and feel of the site, adapting it from my original Allprint.ie design. Between us we designed the usability and accessibility, with Oisin implementing the code.

Espion

I worked with Lightbox on this project for internet security company, Espion.

I built the XHTML/CSS templates, and looked after the content population.

NERA

I worked with Lightbox on the website for the National Employment Rights Authority, which gives information to employers and employees in Ireland.

Jolie

Jolie is a new drink which is a mix of sparkling white wine and Crème de Cassis de Dijon. Darling design needed someone to implement their design (they are primarily print Designers). We decided on Flash as a delivery medium, as it is a luxury product, with a sleek, sexy image.

As the site is for an alcoholic beverage there obviously needed to be an age verification system, and I also linked in a content management system to the flash, so that images and news could be updated easily.

Peter Evers Photography

I was called upon once again by Darling Design to help give functionality to another flash site, this time a redesign of the online portfolio of Peter Evers.

This was basically an image gallery based in flash. I used an xml file to load the images into flash, thus making it much easier to update than traditional image galleries. I have used a similar technique on my own photo gallery.
